Marketplace Deal Finder Privacy Policy
Marketplace Deal Finder is designed to help users filter and organize visible Facebook Marketplace listings without selling personal data or using remote code.
Effective date: May 15, 2026
1. Overview
Marketplace Deal Finder is a browser extension that helps users find better local Marketplace deals by filtering listings already visible on the user’s Facebook Marketplace results page. The extension can help remove misleading prices, such as $1, $123, or “free but not really” listings, and can organize visible listings based on distance and price information.
2. Information the Extension Handles
The extension may read visible website content on Facebook Marketplace pages when the user activates the extension. This visible content may include listing titles, prices, distance text, listing snippets, and other listing information displayed on the page.
The extension may store user preferences locally in the browser, such as selected distance range and filtering options.
3. Information the Extension Does Not Collect
Marketplace Deal Finder does not collect, request, or store names, email addresses, passwords, payment information, health information, authentication credentials, personal communications, browsing history, or precise GPS location.
4. How Information Is Used
Visible listing content is used only to provide the extension’s single purpose: helping users filter, clean up, and organize Facebook Marketplace listings that are already visible in the active browser tab.
Locally stored preferences are used only to remember the user’s extension settings.
5. Data Sharing and Sale
Marketplace Deal Finder does not sell user data.
Marketplace Deal Finder does not transfer user data to third parties.
Marketplace Deal Finder does not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
6. Remote Code
Marketplace Deal Finder does not use remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, and extension files are included in the submitted extension package. The extension does not use external scripts, remote modules, eval(), or remotely hosted WebAssembly.
7. Local Storage
User preferences may be saved using browser storage on the user’s own device. These settings are used only to keep the extension working consistently between sessions. The extension does not send these settings to an external server.
8. User Control
Users can disable or remove Marketplace Deal Finder at any time through the browser’s extension settings. Removing the extension will remove the extension from the browser and stop its access to Marketplace pages.
9. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if Marketplace Deal Finder changes how it handles data. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
